VIA holds talks on package scheme of incentives

NAGPUR: The Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) held a talk addressed by the general manager of District Industries Centre (DIC) on the package scheme of incentives declared by the state government in the industrial policy released this year.

The function was organized with the basic objective of informing the local businessman who normally belongs to the small and medium sector about the sops available in the policy, which also has a heavy tilt towards this sector.

Addressing the local industrialists at VIA, Dharmadhikari said that the schemes announced under industrial the policy shall remain operational from April 1 2013 to March 2018. He said the units have to meet the edibility criterion as mentioned in the respective acts for availing the scheme. Apart from the manufacturing units, cold storages and food processing industries can also avail of the benefits under the package scheme of incentives (PSI), said Dharmadhikari.

The existing units needs to be in production before April 2013, or a should have availed any benefit through an earlier scheme. A unit which has filed an application under the old scheme of 2007 before March 2013 is also covered under PSI.

He said a new units in a taluka where there is no other unit by the same business concern can also get the benefit subject to a few conditions. One of the conditions is that the firm should not have been formed by a change of management by or a existing business or revival of an old unit.
